PCB multilayer circuit boards and PCB double-sided circuit boards are similar in appearance. Ordinary people look at the same board with the naked eye. If you don’t pay attention, you can’t see the difference between them, or you can’t tell whether it is a double-sided circuit board. Or a multi-layer circuit board. So, how to distinguish ordinary double-sided boards and multi-layer circuit boards by naked eyes? Below, let professional PCB engineers teach you some methods of identification:
First of all, it is necessary to have an understanding of the number of layers of the circuit board. The number of layers of the circuit board is the inner layer, 1-2 layers are referred to as 1-layer PCB single-sided board, 2-layer referred to as PCB double-sided board, usually referred to as PCB multi-layer board refers to 3-48 layers; the higher the number of layers, the higher the unit price higher. Since the inner circuit is to be laminated, the technical content is high, and the machine cost is relatively high. The difference between ordinary double-sided board and multi-layer circuit board is as follows:
1. The more layers, the larger the shadow in the sheet;
2. There are lines and inks on both ends of the double-sided PCB;
3. There is no visible line in the double-sided PCB, which is pure sheet material;
4. If the board is punched, it can be inserted by hand - the lower edge of the board is smooth and visible;
5. A faint shadow can be seen in the multi-layer PCB circuit board, which is a bit dim when it is shallow, and the line can be seen when it is deep;
6. The board materials of multi-layer PCB circuit boards are usually made of KB materials, which are smoother than the board surface, especially after cleaning after molding processing;
7. If you want to know how many layers of boards are in the end, if you want to know the accurate data, you can only go through the manufacturer's IM inspection or the development engineer's drawing board record.
